Measuring in Maths for Summer Smoothies

Never a dull moment in Newton – last week we had to work out the quantity of ingredients to buy for the 2 year 4 classes.  We had to work out how much ingredients would be needed for 1 person, 3 people, the whole class and then we even scaled up to work out what would be need if we made smoothies for the whole school.  Finally, we used our recipe for 3 and had fun making our Summer Smoothies.  We put our measuring skills into practise: weighing, cutting, pouring, whizzing and then drinking our Summer Smoothies.  Yum!

Year 4 Farm Trip

On Monday 25th June Year 4 had a fabulous trip to Morley Farm and Hall Farm, where we learnt about Arable Farm Crops and Dairy Farming. Here are some photos to showcase Newton’s day.

Sports Day !

Last Thursday was our Year 3 and 4 Sports Day.
We spent the morning with a carousel of different activities, e.g. obstacle course, long jumping, penalty shootout, etc.

In the afternoon we had our races: sprint, bat and ball plus 3 legged. All children participated.

A big thank you to all those who came to support our day!

Newton Children were motivated to make super Paper Planes for the Competition.

We had several different designs.

We trialled a few different designs.
