Apologies for lack of posts on the blog, we have had real problems getting on to internet but will upload later this morning…

All children are well, first night all children were quiet by 10pm but it was so hot some found it difficult to get to sleep and woke early. Lots of fun activities and smiling (although increasingly tired faces as the day went on)

After a long and hot coach journey we arrived at Kingswood Peak adventure to blistering sun and blue skies. It was gorgeous and everyone was happy and excited. A tour of the buildings, general site layout and routines was followed by bedmaking, which was a challenge for some children!

All children were asleep by 10.15pm…and some of the staff!

During yesterday afternoon we did problem solving activities, jungle vines and the 3 G swing. Watch the video by clicking on 3G link above. After tea last night we had a surprise for Birthday boy Greg… Two big chocolate birthday cakes!! We had a lovely session later at the campfire, learning songs and listening to stories, we even had hot chocolate there, it was great fun. Children have been contributing to a video diary (Big Brother had the diary room, we had the drying room, we thought we might call it Kingswood diaries?!) more to follow on this. All sleeping well again and a quiet night till 7.30am. All children are starting to look tired now but spirits are still high! Domynyk B is starting to lose his voice and some others starting to sound a bit croaky! Weather even hotter today. We have been creating our own  animations, swimming and canoe capsize, after lunch we have Zip wire all together! photos will follow…Miss Pick and Mrs Thomas have promised to go on the 3G swing tomorrow.

100_0844  All slept well last night. All quiet between 10pm and 7.30am! Everyone has been absolutely brilliant! Mums and dads should be really proud the children have been great ambassadors for Lakenham; supporting each other and staying enthusiastic even when  they are tired from so many challenges. This morning we have been doing a  river study of the Godinton river. We had to find a new home for ‘Fin the fish’! Everyone has plenty of suncream, on as it is very hot! Later this afternoon some children (6) have opted to watch England play in the blu ray cinema, but most will continue with activities.

We have been having room inspections every morning; Connor W and Emmanuel’s ; Caitlin and Molly’s rooms have been consistently perfect. Well done to them!  No accident or injuries apart from a near miss when Mrs Thomas nearly fell of the bed….Tonight we have campfire to practise and learn even more songs and rhymes (we have loads already we will teach you them when we get back!).
