Welcome from our Headteacher
I am so pleased you are finding out about our lovely school and community.
Lakenham Primary is a school which lives the values of Enjoy, Aspire and Achieve. A school which is child centred, values children learning outdoors and knows that what happens in our Outstanding EYFS provision, builds through our school. We were thrilled that the Ofsted inspectors could also see how well the children do at Lakenham, with the first line of the report stating that "Pupils thrive at Lakenham." We couldn't agree more!

I am so proud to be Headteacher at Lakenham Primary and know that as a multicultural two form entry primary school, in central Norwich, we bring the world to the children. There are over 45 languages spoken at home by the children in our school! Being part of Lakenham Primary, the children and their families become part of our school family.

Lakenham Primary School has improved and the school community is working towards being a beacon school in many areas. We already are recognised as an Outstanding (Ofsted) provider for Early Years teaching, with members of our staff supporting other schools through training and doing Podcasts to support teachers in other schools. We are a forward thinking and outward looking group of staff and governors. Wanting the best for the children, staff and parents.
We know that primary education only takes 8 years, but lasts a lifetime. We have a curriculum which is much more than about remembering dates and names ….. it’s about understanding the world and how it works, but also gives children to enquire, ask big questions and discover themselves. We will grow together, will struggle together and will succeed together. We will make these some of the best years of their lives. Welcome to our family!
Please come and have a look around our school. We have individual tours so you are able to find out the school, feel the buzz, experience the wonderful space we have including the huge outdoor learning spaces and finally understand what a wonderful place Lakenham Primary is. You might even get to meet Matilda our school therapy dog (who lives with me!).
