History in the Early Years

In the Early Years at Lakenham Primary School, history is approached through investigating children's own personal history and beginning to gain an understanding of the terms, past and present. Children learn through hands on practical experiences starting with themselves and their personal experiences and moving on to think about the experiences of their adults.

In their role play home area, Reception have begun to build their own time line of themselves which shows visually how they have grown and changed in their lives so far and how their adults have also changed over time.
