MFL Year 1

We are very lucky to have over 10 languages spoken in each Year 1 class!

To recognise this, we have begun to say hello, good morning, good afternoon and goodbye in different languages. We began with French and have since incorporated Spanish and Arabic.

We cannot wait to hear how other countries say these conversational phrases!

Languages and Culture Day

In March, we all took part in Language and Culture Day when the children were able to experience another country, learning some key phrases in their spoken language as well as do some activities to learn more about them. The children 'flew' with their own 'passport' to The Philippines, India and Czechia and enjoyed some cultural dances, sampling food and undertaking a tour of key landmarks.
