Body Parts

With catchy songs like ‘Tête, Épaules, Genoux, Pieds’ (Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes) and ‘Jean Petit qui Danse’ (Little John who Dances) – a particular favourite – Year 4 learned parts of the body in French during the Autumn Term. They were introduced to games like Le Trappe whilst learning key vocabulary to help them make their own French book inspired by our key text Grand Monstre Vert. They really enjoyed designing their own monster before writing sentences to accompany it. Great job, Year 4!

Clothes

This term, the children have begun to learn the names of items of clothes and applying their knowledge of colour to describe them. We have learned that some colours change if the gender of the noun is feminine. They have begun to learn about regular verbs and how to conjugate these when using them in sentences, using 'porter' (to wear) as an example of a regular -er verbs.
